It's a beautiful day!

It is finally sunny and somewhat warm here, today, in Chicagoland!  I'm going to take my daughter to a playdate at my friend's house, then walk to get my son from school! Woohoo!  Here is a picture of the dresser that I am currently refinishing.

Before picture.  Slowly started sanding.

All I have left now is to sand the drawers and remove the pull knobs.  I will be painting it a semi-gloss black color from Rustoleum and will be replacing the drawers with brushed nickel pulls, for a more modern look.  I'm so excited!  I also want to go to Goodwill and go thrift shopping and hopefully find some unique goodies.  What amazing items have you found from thrift shopping?

  2. I'm excited, too! This is my first restoration project, and being home with 2 kids and a husband that travels, it is not a quick project to complete! Hoping to finish this weekend or next week, so stop back to see the final product :)

  3. It's amazing how paint and new hardware will transform your dresser!
Thanks for stopping by my tablescape...don't wait til your kids are older to set a nice table! When my girls were little we didn't have space in the kitchen to eat, so we ate at our formal dining room table almost every night by candlelight! They loved it. Even when they were 3 and 4 years old I had them set the table. I had a photo of a couple of different ways to set each place setting and they could choose how to do it. Having a photo really helped them, especially to help them determine which side to put the forks on. It doesn't take much time to set the table with pretty things and it makes it fun for kids when they get to do it the way they like.
